Onboarding Templates

Create and manage standardized onboarding processes for new employees.

Overview

Onboarding templates define the structured workflow for new employees. Each template consists of various steps that are systematically processed.

Create Template

Basic Settings

  • Name: Template designation (e.g., "Standard Onboarding", "IT Department")
  • Description: Optional for additional details

Add Steps

After creating the template, you can assign steps:

  1. Steps must be available: First create Onboarding Steps
  2. Add steps to template: Select from available steps
  3. Assign responsible group: Assign Groups
  4. Define due date:
  • Before hire date (e.g., -7 days)
  • After hire date (e.g., +14 days)

Left Side

  • List of all created templates
  • Search function
  • Edit options

Right Side

  • Assigned steps
  • Order and dependencies
  • Responsibilities

Workflow

  1. Create template: Define name
  2. Create steps: Under Onboarding Steps
  3. Create groups: Under Groups
  4. Assign steps: Add to template
  5. Set due dates: Define timeframe
  6. Assign to employee: Upon hiring

Example Templates

Standard Onboarding

  • Prepare workspace (-7 days)
  • Set up IT access (-3 days)
  • Welcome meeting (+1 day)
  • Introduction training (+7 days)

Manager Onboarding

  • All standard steps
  • Leadership training (+14 days)
  • Team introduction (+2 days)

Important Notes

Prerequisites

Before creating templates, onboarding steps and groups must be created.

Best Practice

Create different templates for different positions or departments.
