Quick Start Guide
This guide walks you through the most important first steps after registration. Before you can add employees, you need to set up your company structure and have at least one working time model and absence policies in place — you can use the provided defaults or create your own.
1. Set Up Company Structure
Navigate to Settings > Company and create your basic structure. Under Locations, create your work locations with name and address (optionally with a location image). Under Departments, create your main departments (e.g., Sales, IT, HR). Under Teams, define your teams.
2. Add Employees
Navigate to Employees in the sidebar and click "Add Employee". Fill in the required fields: role, salutation, first and last name, email address, start date, working hours and full-time hours, position, department, team, supervisor, and location. Under templates and rules, assign a working time model and absence policies (vacation, sick leave, etc.), and optionally an onboarding template. Enable "Send invitation email" if the employee should receive access immediately. Click "Save" or "Add more" for additional employees.
3. Configure Working Times
Under Settings > Attendance & Absence > Attendance > Working Time Models, define your working time models and break regulations. Under Settings > Attendance & Absence > Time Managers, you are already registered as time manager for all employees by default — here you can add more time managers or adjust responsibilities. Note: bookings you create for yourself must be approved under open requests, while bookings you create as time manager for other employees are approved automatically.
4. Test First Processes
Switch to the employee view and create a test vacation request, then approve it as time manager. Open time tracking, record a workday, and check the result. Once everything works, you can start importing larger amounts of data using the Data Import functions, set up automations under Settings > Automations, configure on-/offboarding processes, and customize your company design under Settings > Personalization > Design.
