Confirming Hourly Wages and Bonus Payments
This article explains how to confirm hourly wage calculations and bonus payments in the monthly salary table of an employee profile.
For employees with hourly wages or bonus payments, certain salary components require manual confirmation each payroll period before they can be included in the payroll export. You can confirm these directly in the monthly salary table in the employee's Salary tab.
Confirming Hourly Wages
For employees paid by the hour, the system calculates the monthly salary based on the hourly rate and the scheduled working hours for that month. Before the payroll is approved, the calculated hours and resulting amount should be reviewed and confirmed.
How It Works
In the monthly salary table, the base salary column for hourly employees shows the calculated amount based on their hourly rate and working hours. Click the edit icon next to the amount to open the confirmation dialog, where you can:
- Review the calculated hours based on the employee's working time model
- Adjust the confirmed hours if they differ from the calculated hours (e.g., due to additional hours worked)
- See the resulting salary amount
Handling Discrepancies
If the confirmed hours differ from the calculated hours, a warning icon appears next to the salary amount in the table. Clicking this icon opens a detailed breakdown showing:
- The employee's hourly rate
- Calculated hours (based on the working time model)
- Confirmed hours (as entered by you)
- The difference in hours
- The calculated vs. confirmed salary amount
This helps you and your payroll provider identify and resolve any discrepancies before finalizing the payroll.
Confirming Bonus Payments
Bonus payments may also require confirmation depending on the bonus model configured for the employee.
Variable Bonus
Variable bonus payments must be manually recorded for each payroll period. The system does not calculate an amount automatically – you enter the bonus amount for each month individually. If no bonus is due for a particular month, no entry is needed.
Target Bonus
Target bonuses are performance-based and automatically suggested for each payroll period based on the configured target amount and payment frequency. Before the bonus is paid out, the suggested amount must be confirmed. You can adjust the amount if the actual bonus differs from the target.
How to Confirm
In the monthly salary table, the bonus column shows the current bonus amount. Click the edit icon to open the confirmation dialog, where you can review or adjust the amount for that month.
Permissions
To confirm hourly wages and bonus payments, you need editing permissions for the Salary tab in the employee profile.
